Sergio Leone Is My Homey

I get home, it's eleven twenty in the Post Meridian and to my surprise and pleasure "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" is on Silver Screen Classics. Now watching this gives me two undeniable sensations.

1. If ever in my life i could rock the steely gaze Clint gives Angel Eyes I'll be a happy man

2. This is one of the reasons I want to make films.

Sergio Leone taught Clint how to make films. So "Mystic River" and "Million Dollar Baby" can all be attributed to the kick assery of The Man With No Name Trilogy. I tell ya though, the death of Clint Eastwood will be a sad day, it's like when Charles Bronson died, a little piece of the what makes men men died like American Pie.* (the song, not the good first movie followed by three thousand sequels)

Lets start the campaign lets bring machismo! There's a war going on people! It can't be fought with Nancy's and Betty's wearing women's jeans and crying. It's won with cats dudes like the Dirty Dozen.

Cormac McCarthy told a story about there being "No County For Old Men" Am I the old man? Do I not understand the ways of the world? Or am I and others like me the heralds of the great return. The meat eating, take charge, two fisted, white knuckled mother fuckers.

Stand Proud brothers, the spirit of the west will soon return.
